Review: Dyson DC75 Upright Bagless Vacuum Cleaner

Guest blog by Addam

Dyson: a very familiar and well-known household name where innovation and improvement on everyday products is what they have built their reputation upon. The name Dyson is, of course, synonymous with their vacuum cleaners and what they have done to keep our floors clean.

With innovation & inspiration from earlier models like the DC01, Dyson have created the DC75 Cinetic Big Ball Vacuum cleaner. From the offset, it’s clear that this another product of which Dyson are justifiably proud; the packaging is aesthetically pleasing, with pictures of Sir James Dyson alongside quotes such as “The only vacuum with no maintenance of filters, no bags to buy, no loss of suction”. So what is inside the box? You get the Dyson DC75 vacuum, the tangle free turbine tool, combination crevice and brush tool and a stair tool.

Firstly, from its name you know that this is going to be a relatively big vacuum cleaner. This stems from its Big Ball design; the advantage of this Big Ball design is to aid movement of the vacuum to make turning around furniture effortless but to also house a powerful motor to produce 120 airwatts of suction.

Cinetic is where the claim of no filters to maintain and no loss of suction comes in, as within the waste bin there are 35 Cinetic tips which move at up to 5000 hertz. That means that these tips constantly moving, which helps to separate the microscopic dust so efficiently that there are no filters to wash or replace, meaning that it will not lose suction over time.

Whilst cleaning throughout the home the DC75 is built to clean both carpeted and hard floors with the self-adjusting cleaner head to help maintain suction combined with a powerful motorised brush bar. This motorised brush bar is designed to dig deep into the pile of your carpets, picking up dirt that might be compressed into the carpet and on hard floors it brushes deep within the floorboards to remove more dust and allergens.

Knowing that we’d like to use a vacuum to clean not just our floors but also hard to reach areas such as our ceilings and other areas, the Dyson DC75 also features an instant release wand. With the instant release wand you can extend a high reach wand far enough to reach up flight of stairs with no need to drag this vacuum directly behind you. This makes cleaning hard to reach areas a breeze.

As previously mentioned, within the box you do get the tangle free turbine tool which is perfect for picking up all unwanted dirt and importantly for pet owners, animal hair and dander is taken care of.

dc75-genericWith all of this power and excellent tools you really can clean with just one machine – and without the need for frequent bin changes as the DC75 features a very large 2.18 litre bin capacity.

Dyson offer an excellent 5 year manufacturers guarantee for parts and labour and with bags or filters to replace, there’s simply no need to counter in additional costs.
