tsf02-headerThe new range of Smeg TSF02 toasters will add a splash of life to any kitchen, with a stylish design and extravagant colours they are eye-catching and fit in with any decor. A clear variation from their normal large kitchen appliances, they are excellent quality and effortlessly timeless with a classical design.

Smeg have used a retro 50’s style for their design and have pulled it off well, making it look sleek and stylish, without making it feel outdated and unmodern. Available in a wide range of colours including red, black, cream, pastel green and pastel blue they are perfect for any colour kitchen if you wanted to match or even if you wanted to add a pop of colour to an otherwise subtle background. The colours are bright and distinctive, including the pastels which you might expect to be subtle, are stunningly “out there” and really add flare to its surroundings.

tsf02-3When first looking at the toaster the quality of it stands out, with a polished finish and metal fixtures with the title Smeg across both sides, even the buttons felt really durable. I find that the toasters are reassuringly heavy, making it sturdy and the anti-slip feet on the base reduces the chance of it moving. With Smeg written across the front of the toaster itself, there is no mistaking who makes it: Smeg are renowned for their high quality products that are built to last and are of remarkable quality.

tsf02-2Looking great isn’t the only good thing about this toaster, it is also amazingly useful. Although it only has two slots, it is a four slice toaster, by using extra-long slots it means that it isn’t bulky and obtrusive. The slots are also extra deep; designed by Smeg to overcome the common issue that the bread doesn’t toast all the way to the top and you have to flip it. It sounds like a small problem but it becomes a big issue when you’ve burnt your fingers, so Smeg have overcome this with a well thought out design. The slots are also self-centring so that no matter how thickly sliced the bread is, it always fits and toasts evenly.

Smeg have thought about practicality as well as style and with 12 different toasting settings – varying from reheat to a high of 6 – they also have settings between the numbers so that it’s easier to find the perfect setting for you. The toaster also offers a defrost setting, so even if you’re running late for work or want a quick snack, you won’t have to leave your bread out on the side to defrost, making this perfect for anyone with a busy lifestyle. The feature I personally love about this toaster is the bagel setting; you are able to choose the heat setting and it toasts the bagel so that no edges burn and it’s evenly toasted. Another great feature is a deep crumb tray that stretches the length of the toaster, reducing mess and burning in the toaster itself, and it’s easier to clean as it is stainless steel.

tsf02-youtubeThe timeless look of this 50’s style toaster make it eye-catching to anyone, however the ease of use and smart design make this the perfect in home small appliance. At Hughes we even offer matching kettles, mixers and blenders for a beautiful selection of stylish appliances which can be made to look at-home in any home. Even if it’s a sturdy replacement for a broken toaster or a nice looking update, the Smeg back to the 50’s range will add glamour – and great functionality – to your home.
