The Cromer Christmas Lights will be switched on Saturday December 6th at 6.45pm this year and with two new displays costing £2000 it’s going to be bigger and better than ever!

Various great events will be happening on the day including a Christmas craft market in the Parish Church between 10am and 4pm, and a Santa’s Grotto in Garden Street.

The winner of a locally run children’s poster competition will be switching on the lights this year, and there will be a raffle on the night with the chance to win many brilliant prizes, including a 22” Samsung Television donated by the team at our Hughes Plus store in Cromer.

Raffle tickets are available to buy from the store; you can find more information on the Twitter page @HughesCromer, so please come in to store and support us, the event and to be in with a chance to win some fantastic prizes!
Cromer lights
For nearly 40 years the Cromer Christmas lights operation has been wholly operated by a dedicated team of volunteers.  It’s not just putting up and taking the lights down annually – a huge job in itself; the team also raises all the funds needed to buy, maintain, and run the Christmas lights in Cromer. That includes paying for the electricity to run the lights, buying the town Christmas trees, running the children’s poster competition and insuring the whole thing (needless to say this is their largest expense).

Without the hard work, enthusiasm and dedication of the team of volunteers who turn out for the 12 Sunday mornings needed to put up and take down the lights, Cromer would have no Christmas Lights, so we are delighted to be able to donate the main raffle prize to ensure this fantastic festive event continues to benefit the Cromer community.

We look forward to welcoming visitors old and new to the town and store!
