Hughes proud to support Claydon & Barham Local Community Trust

We were delighted to come to the aid of the Claydon & Barham Local Community Trust recently. Located in the centre of Claydon village on Church Lane next to the High School, the centre has been an integral part of the community since opening on 17th March 1984 (St. Patrick’s day). The Trust are working hard to raise funds to completely refurbish the Community Centre, a now dated 1960’s building. The Local Community trust has used the building for more than 30 years; much of this time it shared with the Council-run Youth Club and the neighbouring high school used it as a canteen!   Acquired for sole use by the Local Community Trust in 2014, there is much work to be done and every pound that can be saved can be ploughed into updating the building and – what luxury – insulating it, too!

Vanessa Richardson, from our Ipswich office, had asked Daryl and the team from our Felixstowe Road, Ipswich, for the best deal on a TV, on behalf of her father, a Trustee of the Community Trust. Much to the delight of the Trust, Daryl and his team were delighted to supply the Trust with a Samsung 32” flatscreen TV which will be used in the front window of the Community Centre. Acting as an enhancement to their regular notice board, the TV will detail special events, meetings, activities and other useful information for the local community.

We hope that this gesture will go some way to free up vital funds for this important part of the local community. To find out more about the Trust here or LIKE their Facebook page.
