Red-nosed Reinbeer?

David and the team at our Wisbech store will be open this Saturday and Sunday and look forward to welcoming customers old and new, including many people in town to visit Elgoods Brewery open weekend.

Elgood’s North Brink Brewery was established in 1795 and was one of the first classic Georgian breweries built outside London, situated on the north bank of the River Nene. It came under the control of the Elgood family in 1878 so at 136 years old (many happy returns) is just a little bit older than Hughes (we are a sprightly 93 years young!) Now in it’s fifth generation, the Elgood family run the family business today, maintaining the traditions and pushing the company forward to the 21st century.  Elgoods currently operates an estate of 36 public houses all within a 60 mile radius of the brewery and embraces parts of Lincolnshire and  Norfolk in addition to its Cambridgeshire heartland.

This weekend, the 6th and 7th  December, between 11 -4 and there will be free brewery tours and a chance to view the gardens. There will be chance to stock up on your Christmas beer with the award winning  Black Dog Bottled, Gold Medal award (Brewing Industry International 2013), Cambridge Bitter and a chance to order their seasonal beer, aptly named “Reinbeer”.

Why not call in at Hughes in the Market Place as we will be open 10 – 4  on Sunday 7th December,  order your large screen TV  in time to sit and enjoy a “Reinbeer” on Christmas Day!
