The Bosch SMS25AB00G dishwasher has been under the spotlight at our Newmarket branch recently.  Our team took a closer look at what makes this Bosch dishwasher such a popular choice for our customers who are looking to replace their old machine, get their first dishwasher or choose the hassle-free option to rent this dishwasher.

What’s the performance like?

Thanks to an energy efficiency class of A++ and a 12 place setting capacity, this Bosch dishwasher can deal with a huge amount of pots, crockery, cutlery and glassware in one go. The energy consumption in Eco 50 programme is 258 kwh per year, based on 280 standard cleaning cycles. The water consumption in Eco 50 programme is 2660 litres per year, based on the same cycles; which may help you save money on your household bills

The programme time in Eco 50 programme is 210 minutes, giving ample time to load, clean and unload between meals. Noise levels peak at 48dB so you can use this machine late at night, safe in the knowledge that you won’t wake the entire house!

What’s the interior of the product like and what can it offer me to make my dish washing experience better?

When you first take a look inside, you know to go straight for the middle of the door to open, which feels very natural and does not stick or bang when you close it; it’s a very solid design.

Once you look inside, the first thing you will see is the detergent and rinse aid dispenser which is located in the top centre of the door. Personally, I much prefer this to designs that feature the detergent and rinse aid either lower down, off-set to the left or right or – worse still – under the bottom basket. Some of the machines that feature ‘hidden’ dispensers mean too much bending down, but this being in the centre, gets heartfelt thumbs up from me!

Next, it’s time to put the dishes in. As I went to open the top basket to load the machine I noticed that there is a nice handle to pull out the top basket; again, this is a welcome feature that many dishwasher manufacturers either haven’t thought of or choose to overlook.

Once the basket is pulled out it’s perfectly apparent that there is lots of space to put your crockery, cutlery, glassware and there’s even room for large kitchen knives or, equally, smaller knives. I particularly liked this feature as it’s one thing my existing dishwasher does not have this and this can be a problem if you have a full load as you end up burying them under other items as they do not get cleaned properly.

What I also liked with the knife shelf is the adjustable spacer; it spaces out and holds your knives down.

Other than that you get two foldable plate racks in bottom basket, two foldable cup shelves in the top basket and a height adjustable top basket when empty.

What makes the Bosch SMS25AB00G stand out from the rest?

Bosch have equipped this dishwasher with a heat exchanger which delivers hygienic and efficient drying. Dishwashers with heat exchangers treat delicate items like glasses and porcelain with particular care and no risks. The water is pre-heated in the rinsing tank to avoid the temperature “shocks” that can cause glassware and porcelain to crack.

Bosch’s Eco Silence BLDC drive is exceptionally quiet (48db) while maintaining incredible efficient and guaranteeing low electricity consumption. The Eco Silence Drive works without brushes, it is ultra-silent and top results are automatically guaranteed

How does the load sensor work?

Bosch’s Aqua Sensor III, is an intelligent load sensor that automatically detects the load weight. It does this with a rotary speed sensor which recognises the water level. For larger loads, more water is obviously needed in order to soak the dishes properly and the water level decreases. In that case more water is added. For smaller loads, less water is needed for rinsing. The load sensor provides for optimal water usage even for half loads or partial loads, thereby saving water and electricity.

The final feature to mention is the (for me) all-important child-proof door lock. This prevents the door from being opened and / or the programme being altered during the cycle. This can prevent injuries caused by hot steam and accidental adjustments to the programme settings.

On the subject of parents, one commodity we are often short of is time. If you’re short on time, waiting for a load to finish often feels like a lifetime so HUARRH then for the Bosch SMS25A machine has a 29 minute cycle! There’s also a time delay function, allowing you to pre-select the programme for the desired start time. This allows you to handle your appliance conveniently, at any time during the day, during work hours or at night. After the start of the programme a display indicates the precise remaining time.

Last but not least the exterior, does it come in any other colour?

The quick answer to that is yes it also comes in white so, no matter your décor, you’ll find a Bosch SMS25E dishwasher to suit.

If you are choosing your next dishwasher you’d be wise to put this dishwasher on your upgrade list as it offers all the functionality you’re likely to need and will save you money in the long run.

But don’t take just my word for it: ask your local store about a demo and then, when you’re as convinced as I am, buy online, collect in one hour or find out about renting for just £4.38 per week.
