Review: Dyson AM08 Air Multiplier Pedestal Fan

With Euro 2016 underway and the weather starting to warm up, now’s a great time to be a truly cool fan with the Dyson AM08 Air Multiplier Fan.

The AM08 pedestal fan stands proud in any room of the house and looks great. Having no blades means that the airflow paths are streamlined; the air passes through the machine more quietly and with greater efficiency, causing no choppy air. Its mixed flow impeller has a combination of technologies used in turbochargers and jet engines which generate a smooth powerful airflow. It has a brushless motor which is quieter compared to other fans, and the casing has been fine tuned to reduce vibration – and therefore noise. The AM08 received a Quiet Mark Award by the Noise Abatement Society for improved sound quality, making it 15% more efficient and 35% quieter than previous models. An aerodynamic diffuser separates airflow into controlled paths, creating a more efficient journey to the loop.

amo8-3The height of the pedestal can be adjusted and the head can be tilted with one easy touch. With its oscillating head control, the AM08 can project around any room, but as it is bladeless no paperwork will be flying off your desk, making this fan very versatile for home or for the workplace.

The fan comes with a remote control for ultimate convenience offering a choice of 10 settings, with LED display. A sleep timer is incorporated, allowing you to wake up to a cool bedroom or return to a comfortable office, with a choice of setting from 15 minutes to 9 hours. At 67 decibels the fan is so quiet you can feel cool at any time of the day or night.

With its safe loop head, it’s easy to clean and as the air multiplier technology amplifies surrounding air it gives an uninterrupted stream of smooth air. With no blades, everyone is safe around the Dyson AM08 fan.

amo8-2On opening the box, the easy to follow instructions are placed neatly at the top on opening the lid. There are two easy steps to align and click the numbers together to create the pedestal fan. It comes with a moulded ready-to-go 13 amp fitted plug. The instructions clearly show how to operate the remote control; you simply point it towards base of the fan at the front. The remote control comes complete with a CR2032 battery ready to use. The instructions show how to set the timer using the remote control, how to carefully raise and lower the loop amplifier and how to tilt the fan forwards and backwards for the required airflow.

The fan is available in silver or white, with the packaging and box so streamlined and compact that it’s amazing how it all fits in the box. It comes with a remote control, as mentioned above, which cleverly attaches to the loop head with magnets when not in use.

The innovation Dyson brings to its Dyson AM08 fan is certainly there for all to see and feel in this product and it also comes complete with a 2 year guarantee.

You can buy the AM08 online today or pop to your local store for a demo or to see our wide range of fans.
