Review: Morphy Richards 732102 Supervac 2-in-1 Vacuum Cleaner

Guest blog by Jade

My old vacuum having finally given up the ghost, I was desperately in need of a new one and had set my mind on a lightweight model. With so much choice available, I was becoming overwhelmed by choice and decided that Hughes was the destination to try a few out.

After having my last vacuum for a vast amount of years, I wanted something that was going to last. I came across the cordless stick vacuums and thought this had to be a better solution to the hefting I’d been doing with my rather ancient lump of a machine.

The one that stood out for me was the Morphy Richards 732102 – the Supervac 2-in-1 Vacuum Cleaner with Dual Power. I tried it in my local Hughes store and was found out that this was the upgraded model; it was incredibly lightweight and so easy to use. Once purchased, I took the vacuum cleaner home to get some tidying done.

Easy to set up and with no complex components to build, I found that with the swivel head, it was really easy to manoeuvre, perfect for those with any mobility issues.

I like the fast charge setting, with the added bonus of up to 50 mins running time, as this means the housework chores are done in no time at all. The built in larger LI-ON battery means the machine will hold its charge for longer.

With the illuminated floor head, the dreaded (and oft-neglected, out-of-sight, out-of-mind) spaces under the bed and behind the sofa are not missed out on. The handle also collapses, so less space is taken up in the cupboard under the stairs. The vacuum balances well with the floor head, so there’s no accidentally knocking it over every time you walk past.

With the detachable handheld, I find that cleaning the stairs, upholstery and even the car such a doddle. With the speed setting at my fingertips, changing from carpet to hard floors is effortless.

It comes with a crevice tool, so making sure all the nooks and cranny’s in the car which have been filled with crumbs are soon clean again – perfect for those touring in their campers on their holidays, or even those with allergies who like their beds nice and clean.

The machine has a larger dust container and has a little reminder of the back for me to clean the filter so I got no blockages, ensuring the suction remained as powerful at the beginning as at the end.

Although the stick vacuum may not be as big and powerful as my last one, the cordless design and ease of use make effortless work with the day to day chores – with no heavy machine to lug about and no need to plug and unplug as you go from room to room. Rather than dreading my usual mammoth cleaning effort at the weekend, I use mine for a few minutes every day, which I barely notice. The Morphy Richards 732102 has given me my Saturday back!

Get your Saturday’s back and order online, use our Click & Collect to pick up in as little as one hour or ask your local store about a demo.
