Guest blog by Becky,

The Panasonic TX43FX550B is a great value 4K TV, with an ultra-high definition picture, it guarantees to effortlessly emphasise movies and everyday viewing. It has been designed to suit any décor you may have in your humble abodes with a classic metal effect trim and a classic square middle pedestal stand. Although it will fit on any TV stand, the FX550B can also be wall mounted by a VESA 200×200 bracket. We have a wide range of brackets in store, from full motion to flat on the wall.

The FX550B has been designed with Smart in mind; connect the TV to the internet with the built in WIFI and you can catch up on thelatest shows from Netflix and Amazon Prime, watch YouTube videos and use TV catch up services, so there is always something to watch! If you are a Netflix fan, there is even a shortcut button on the remote! If you do miss a programme, don’t fret! The FX550B has Freeview Play built in. Simply put, Freeview Play brings live TV and on demand programmes together in one place – and all for free. Simply open the TV guide, scroll back, and you’ll have access to shows you missed from the last 7 days!

With three HDMI ports, the TX43FX550B can be connected up to the Panasonic DPUB320EBK 4k Blu-ray player so that you can watch the latest blockbusters and cinematic classics in UHD straight away with Ultra-HD Blu-ray discs. The player has 4K direct upscaling too, making HD quality discs look much clearer and sharper! It will even create a HDR effect so that darker scenes will have much more detail in each frame.

If you do want to take advantage of recording Freeview, the Panasonic DMRHWT150EB recorder has a 500GB hard drive, twin tuners and can record up to 129 hours of HD footage as well as Freeview Play.

As with all of the newer LED screens, the sound is of adequate quality but you are best to pair this TV up with a soundbar to get the ultimate experience. Panasonic do an excellent soundbar and wireless sub package, the SCHTB488EBK. This soundbar has two built-in speakers and, when combined with the sub, has 200w power in total. It is compatible with the optical connections and HDMI ARC on the TV so a good quality peerless optical cable such as the DE-DT02 or a Peerless DE-HD03 would be the best options. Using HDMI would mean less remotesas you can use the TV’s handset to change the volume.

Picture wise, the TX43FX550B is the entry level 4K TV that Panasonic sell, however the picture quality isn’t bad at all. For the price, it is bright and colourful and has good detailing. We have been running a 4K video in store over the last few weeks and are impressed with how it handles the images as well as motion.

So what is the TV like overall? The TX43FX550B is a great budget friendly 4K HDR TV. It will make High Definition and Ultra High Definition images look fantastic. The ability to connect up a soundbar with the ARC connection means that you only need the one remote. For the price and smart additional features – this is a very good buy!
