This month, I got to put the Panasonic EZ952B through its paces. The Panasonic EZ952B is part of Panasonic’s current flagship range of OLED screens. Boasting an array of features and top picture quality, this Panasonic OLED certainly packs a punch. Whether it’s a great picture for films or wanting to catch up on missed TV programs, the EZ952B has it all.

Starting off with smart capabilities, the Panasonic EZ952B has the usual suspects when it comes to smart apps: YouTube, Netflix, Amazon Prime video and it’s also is a Freeview Play TV. Simply put, it’s live TV and on-demand, all in one place. Watch catch up through your TV guide and access last week’s shows, on demand, without lifting a finger.

Find programmes from BBC iPlayer, the ITV Hub, All 4, Demand 5 and UKTV Play sitting alongside over 70 digital channels and 15 HD channels. Another great feature with this TV is that if you want to record but don’t have a recorder (and don’t want to get one) you can plug a USB hard drive into the TV and use that as a recorder so you can then watch your recording straight on the TV. It also includes unique thumbnail pictures for each programme on the Quick Look Guide, for a more simplistic way to find your programmes.Panasonic TX55EZ952B TVAnother great feature with the Panasonic EZ952B is that with a lot of televisions you only get the one year manufacturer’s warranty; with Panasonic (via redemption) you can claim for a five year parts and labour warranty. Panasonic has confidence in its build quality and you get peace of mind for five years.

Now, moving on to picture quality… You may find on a normal LED television the picture can be too bright and unnaturally sharp, making the images look a little artificial. However, with this OLED screen the picture quality is amazing and it shows a natural image with immense detail, making what you view on the TV just as you would see with the naked eye.

Some 4K pictures on TV’s can be very demanding on the television but Panasonic have combatted this on the OLED by making sure the processor is powerful enough to ensure the TV makes the brightness as good as it can be. You’ll witness naturally deep levels of colour on the screen effortlessly, bringing colour to life. Panasonic have even had this TV calibrated by top Hollywood film makers so that the image you see is how the film maker intended the film to be viewed. Having undergone 400 independent THX lab tests within 30 different categories, the TX55EZ952B has come out a winner, being awarded the THX 4k Display certification – so you’ll know you’re watching the content exactly how film producers intended it to be seen.

With every TV manufacturer wanting their TV to be one of the best, all TV’s that are ultra-high definition can have a certified independent award if their television meets some stringent requirements. Panasonic’s OLED has earned the Ultra HD Premium Certified award. Meaning Ultra HD premium is a standard put together by the UHD alliance, which is a cross industry body composed of the leading studios, consumer electronic manufacturers, technology companies and content distributors with Panasonic belong one of the members. The UHD premium certification is only given to products which have passed the performance criteria related to resolution, dynamic range and colour spectrum

In summary, Panasonic’s EZ952B is great for people who just want to watch the soaps in the evenings.  Where it comes into its own, however, is when you’re watching a film or your favourite game as this is a TV that’s designed for movie and sports lovers who want to get the most from the picture quality. Ranging from colour range to brightness to the deepest of blacks this OLED TV gives you some of the best images we have experienced.  With a choice of either 55” or 65” screens, you can choose the perfect screen size for your home.
