Thinking about a new TV? Not sure what to choose? Samsung may have the answer with the UE40KU600 TV; a very affordable piece of entertainment quality. The sleek and slim design is packed with goodies including smart features galore and very high quality 4K capabilities, making this set perfect for any household.

Although 4K isn’t a new concept, it still feels cutting-edge. Much like your favourite TV shows, we are now building up to the final episode where all the good bits happen; 4K is almost here. You may have already experienced the kind of picture quality that makes you question whether or not you’re watching a film, or if Bruce Willis is going to have to save you from some bad guys for the 100th time.

Now onto the ‘Smart’ part. Samsung are well known for pulling out all the stops in order to deliver the best possible Smart functionality. This model is no different, they have included so many helpful functions that I wouldn’t be surprised if the next line of TV’s will brush your teeth and clean your car for you. The applications included will cover all aspects of TV catch up as Samsung boast all of the main services, so you will never have to miss any programmes from ‘EastEnders’ to ‘World’s Craziest Police Chases’. This is all included in a very user-friendly smart interface; one click of the ‘Smart Hub’ button transports you directly into a world of catch-up programmes and on-demand features such as Netflix and Amazon Prime. The easy to navigate menu suits even my great aunt Freda and her technophobic tendencies.

samue40-4samue40-3The ‘App Store’ contains a large array of applications, including YouTube (for all those funny cat videos), BBC News for all those exciting news stories and even BBC Sport to track how your favourite athlete or team or doing. Not only does it cover almost everything you will need in terms of TV, it also includes a web browser. This makes Googling certain questions even bigger, like ‘why can’t I grow a beard?’ or ‘where’s summer gone?’… but that’s enough about my search history.

The big feature for this year is cloud gaming; this function allows casual users to access a whole roster of PS3 games that will stream directly to your TV with only an internet connection needed to play. You get a month free then a subscription is required, this is ideal for a fun multiplayer game that everyone can get involved with – without a need for a bulky console. You can also practise to gain an edge, or simply turn off the internet connection when you’re losing and blame it on living in a ‘poor internet area’.

samue40-2The style of the set is sleek and very easy on the eye, managing to fit in with any decor. The edge back light allows the size of the set to be decreased even further to sit nicely anywhere and weigh much less than its predecessors. The central stand helps elevate the set, making the struggle of pointing the remote in the right place almost non-existent. Also, given the central location of the stand it is much better designed to sit on most stands or on the wall if you have the space. This range of TVs are all easily wall mountable, which means less pressure if you’re not the most adept person when it comes to DIY.

To summarise, this set is a perfect mid-range TV, suitable for majority of households, appealing to TV lovers, sports fans, film fanatics and avid gamers alike. So, what are you waiting for? Buy or find out about renting online today or ask your local store about a demo.
