Review: Verbatim MicroSDHC Class 10 Memory Card

Review by Corey.

This is a Verbatim MicroSDHC Class 10 memory card, I bought one for my Samsung S5 smartphone to extend its memory, allowing me to store music and photos without struggling to fit them within the capacity of the standard phone memory.

Like a lot of storage for technical gadgets these memory cards have really come down in price over the years, I remember paying around £20 for a 212mb card for our first digital camera 10 years ago and now you can buy them with 10x the storage for a fraction of the price.

The card is incredibly compact. It is around the size of a fingernail and weighs next to nothing. Once opened I put it straight into my smartphone and it has stayed there since, except from extracting it to update my music library once in awhile. As soon as I was done with it I put it straight back in (wouldn’t want to lose it!)

These MicroSDHC cards are the smallest on the market and are specifically designed for lightweight mobile phones and tablets. They use very little power so fortunately do not drain the battery of your chosen tech. They can often be used in sat-navs for extended map memory, MP3 players, selected digital cameras and PDAs.

You can also use these micro cards in gadgets that require regular SDHC cards, as long as you use the adapter provided. This is very handy if you run out of memory on another gadget, you can just simply switch it out.

MicroSDHC_16GB_Card__1_According to Verbatim, all of their cards contain the latest copyright management technology which ensures legal transfer of digital assets over computer networks for personal use.

This card is a HC (or high capacity) which means it is capable of a larger storage and higher data transfer speed. The write speed of 4mb/sec and a read speed of 4mb/sec is swift and perfectly adequate for personal use. There was also no installation required, it was as straightforward as plug and play. Transferring content from your computer to the card is super simple with the feature of “send to card” or dragging it over using the mouse.

I have been very happy with the Verbatim MicroSDHC card, I have had it in my smartphone for around 2 years and have come across absolutely no issues.

Do I recommend this? Yes I do! This is a very reliable and user-friendly memory extension for your gadgets.
