Review: Yamaha CDN301 CD Player & Music Streamer

Guest blog by Mike

Play all your CDs, all your stored music and stream via the internet, all from one unit, with the amazing Yamaha CDN301BLB. Simple to setup, easy to use and excellent sound quality (obviously a little dependent upon your speakers and amplifier), this unit will handle FLAC & WAV 192khz/24 bit.s88

For streaming music (for instance, using Spotify) connect to power, connect to internet via LAN, connect to your amplifier, and turn on. Select Spotify as source with tablet, smart phone or compatible device, select the music you wish to play, select device, done! It really is just 5 minutes from opening the box that you are playing your music!

The unit is also Airplay & DLNA enabled, but if you haven’t these available, you can make the unit bluetooth, with the addition of the YAB11 (just £50).

There’s an application available to download, as a control unit, for Apple & Android devices, which also lets you stream direct from any music stored on the unit.

If your new CDN301 cannot be hardwired, the good folk at Yamaha have also made available the YWA10, giving it Wi-Fi capability, so no worries there either.

If you love radio, there is also a software update in the pipeline, giving you vTuner, for internet radio.

All of this, while getting the usual quality and care you would associate with Yamaha. If you love your music and love sound quality, I can’t recommend this product highly enough.

Buy online or, if you’re still not sure, find your local store and ask about a demo.
