Samsung and it’s Ultra High Definition Picture

Guest blog by Sean

With the new Samsung SUHD range growing in interest, I thought it was about time I filled you in with a bit more information. Ultra High Definition is in our homes, and if you haven’t seen it yet, you’re missing out! TV manufacturers are currently working on ways to improve the picture quality on their televisions even more, and at the heart of this thought process is colour.

The team from Samsung recently introduced their breathtaking new technology, Nano Crystal Display. It is designed to deliver more brightness and a much wider range of colour than any other standard UHD TV. The Nano Crystal technology can produce more than one billion colour tones, 64 times as many as you get with a typical UHD TV. This can cover 93% of the colour range used in the DCI-P3 picture standard which we are more used to seeing in a digital cinema. This means you will see not only more colour, but that colour will be more natural and realistic.

With the new Nano Crystal panels Samsung had to rethink their backlighting. In order to get the full colour range they are looking for they redeveloped their backlight technology so it is now twice as bright as previous TV’s. Not only does the redesigned backlighting gives you a brighter picture you’ll see whiter whites and better shadow detail.

My personal favourite feature of this new Samsung range is that they are “future proof” for software development for your new S-UHD TV, keeping up to date and current. They are built ready for other technology that hasn’t been released yet, loaded ready for UHD and HDR (high dynamic range) streaming and broadcasting as well as upcoming UHD Blu-rays. Streaming services like Netflix or watching your favourite film on Sky Movies can already be made to look better thanks to Samsung’s unique four-stage UHD upscaling process so what you see displayed is at its best the whole time.

It’s clear that Samsung has put a huge amount of time and energy (maybe even some blood, sweat and tears) into the creation of Nano Crystal technology but considering this, Samsung have released a range of Nano Crystal TV models, covering a wide option of screen size and price. So if you’re the sort of person who cares about your picture quality and doesn’t want to be left behind by the technology, you owe it to yourself to explore what Samsung Nano Crystal TVs has to offer.

So why not pop down to your local store to have a chat and have a look at the new SUHD sets from Samsung or view the entire Samsung range online here – I think you’ll be amazed and shocked at the quality of image you could have in your home.
