Review: iRobot Braava Floor Mop

Guest blog by Lauren

Need a helping hand this Christmas? Then why not try out the iRobot Braava hard floor-mopping robot. An easy and hi-tech cleaning option which uses a dry or damp cloth to mop hard floor surfaces for you – keeping dust, dirt and smudges under control. With two modes to choose from, all you need to do is simply attach a cleaning cloth, press either sweep or mop and away it goes!

In sweep mode the iRobot dry mops, picking up dust, dirt and hair. In mop mode it damp mops, lifting surface dirt and grime onto the cloth. It uses a guidance technology
northstar-navigation copyto track where it has been and where it still needs to go. Once the iRobot has finished it will return back to where it started and automatically switch off, it will also re-charge within just 2 hours with its turbo charge cradle.

With the addition of a NorthStar Navigation Cube it projects a signal that is used to determine its location. North Star works like an indoor GPS that helps keep track of exactly where it has been. As it cleans it builds a map of the area, mapping walls and obstacles as it encounters them. Covering up to 92 square meters in a single cleaning cycle or up to 185 square meters with multiple NorthStar Navigation Cubes activated.
