Review: Russell Hobbs 14899 Platinum Grind & Brew Coffee Maker

Guest blog by Diane

This Russell Hobbs 14899 Grind & Brew coffee maker does exactly what it says on the box: it grinds your chosen coffee beans and then makes a pot or a cup, filling your home with the delicious aroma of fresh coffee.

It is easy to use (but always read the manual first) and it makes a perfect cup of coffee every time, by being able to select the right strength and the exact amount you want.

Using freshly ground coffee beans you have complete freedom of choice over what kind of beans you like, whether it is from your supermarket, your posh deli or your favourite beans from Costa or Starbucks. Once you’ve made your choice, pop them in and – from fine to coarse ground setting – the grinder does it all.

The time function is also great as you can set it to wake you with a hot fresh cup of coffee every morning. Even when I feel sluggish, the delicious waft of fresh coffee soon has me springing downstairs!

It is a lovely looking machine that does not take up too much room, with a nice blue LCD display it is easy to read. It has a permanent but removable filter and a glass jug that holds up to 10 cups.

I found it easy to keep it looking great as it virtually cleans itself; with the easy lift-out basket and a simple wipe down it is done.

I found the best way to keep my coffee beans fresh is to either buy little and often or keep them in an airtight container in a cool, dark, dry place.

This coffee machine is perfect value for money and looks great, too! Buy online today or find your local store and ask about a demo.
