Review: Shark NV480 Upright Bagless Vacuum

We normally think of Sharks as being very dangerous and prowling the seas for their next meal, but fortunately, this Shark is well trained and definitely a helpful friend around the house. It’s the Shark NV480, a 700w Rocket Pro Upright Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner.

At Hughes we believe that seeing and trying is the best bet to find the ideal product for you, so the team at our Beccles store set about putting this machine through its paces. Steve and his team were so impressed by its performance and design that they sold two (to themselves) and were delighted to show it off to customers visiting the store.

As Steve explains “After a thorough spring clean we were impressed with so much of the functionality and ease of use that we couldn’t help but show it off. From the easy to remove 1.8L dust bin and the powerful and effective pick-up with no loss of suction thanks to the cyclonic filtration technology, the Shark was simply fantastic.

Moving around the room is easy with the directional floor head and not too heavy as the motor is lighter than some higher wattage models. The handle is specially designed for the user to have a good grip and less hand strain. It sounds like a simple idea – but the best ones often are – but lights fitted on the front help guide you around those dark corners and make sure you don’t miss any debris. Tools are readily available and always to hand as they are stored on the back of the cleaner and include a turbo brush so that you can brush up the sofa and other soft furnishings.

To reduce the amount of dust being blown back into the room the cleaner is fitted with HEPA filters (High Efficiency Particulate Air) meaning that the filter is capable of removing smaller particles so that there is less dust irritation. Being bagless means that there are lower running costs and the filters are washable as well, so no need to buy new filters every month!

To wrestle a Shark yourself why not find your local store and ask about a demo or find more information on this model online.
