The Sony HTX8500 is a slim and elegant bar that still packs a punchy sound despite its relatively small size. Measuring just 89cm wide and 6.4cm high, the HTX8500 is unobtrusive on your stand and won’t interfere with your TV’s picture. Its design includes a punched metal speaker grille that helps it to almost blend in and not grab too much attention to itself.
Once turned on, the HTX8500 delivers Sony’s latest surround technology – the Vertical Surround Engine. This enables you to enjoy the thrill of Dolby Atmos® and DTS:X® from a single slim unit rather than having to have other speakers and a subwoofer cluttering up the same space. No matter what type of room you’re in, advanced DSP technology allows just two front speakers to reproduce full, cinematic sound from all around you, including from above.
With five different sound modes on the HTX8500, it allows you to tailor the bars performance, no matter what you are listening to. ‘Cinema mode’ enhances the bass, immersing you deeper into the movies you enjoy while ‘Game mode’, created by Playstation developers, enhances your gameplay. Other useful modes include: ‘Sports mode’ which fine-tunes the ambient crowd noise so you can feel the pitch-side action, ‘Music mode’ that lets you hear the detail in every song and, last but not least, ‘News mode’ for clearer dialogue and enhanced speech.
It’s easy to connect all of your entertainment systems through the HTX8500 as it has both a HDMI and optical outputs for the TV. It also has a HDMI pass-through in order to connect a games console, a UHD Blu-ray™ player or your chosen set-top box. You can also pair the HTX8500 with your smartphone or tablet using its Bluetooth capabilities to wirelessly stream all of your favourite albums and playlists in addition to providing another alternative connection to your TV. This can come particularly in handy if you’re trying to reduce cable clutter.
