Review: Samsung QE55Q7FNA 55″ Ultra HD Smart QLED TV

Guest blog by Jade

It was time I upgraded my old aged TV and decided to get something a little more modern. After hunting though lots of choices, I finally decided on the Samsung QE55Q7FNA. I love their Q HDR design which gives the brighter colours and the Q Picture combined with the HDR+10 (High Dynamic range) Technology giving the amazing picture and brightness.

With the TV being wall-mounted using the No Gap Wall Mount, it could be hard to connect my devices. Samsung have thought of that, however, and also created the Near Invisible Cable, which allows one lead to go from the TV to the One Connect box. This box then has all the connections that you would normally find on the back of the TV, and the 2018 ranges include the power cable. With 15 metres of Near Invisible Cable  in length, I am able to hide away the One Connect box and all the leads.

Another bugbear of mine is having lots of remotes for each device.  Well, once again Samsung have thought of this with the One Remote, giving you ease of use and even using voice commands to change the channel or adjusting the volume. Plus the bonus of using this when searching for videos on YouTube will save time having to type every time.

If you are a football fan, then this TV would be perfect with the refresh rate being double compared to other TVs. Using the One Remote, you can set the TV to Sports mode to get the best view of the TV and never miss a goal!

The Samsung QLED series is also perfect for a night in with a movie thanks to the quantum dot bulbing which delivers the deepest blacks an LED TV has ever seen and because of the 100% colour volume increase from a conventional LED TV. It shows you the experience and the colour the film directors intend you to see, so it gives the cinema experience at home and to add to the cinema experience that QLED offers you, you can wirelessly pair their soundbar ranges wirelessly to the QLED series.

The QE55Q7FNA has been constructed with a 20 bit panel for the best display quality onto the screen that a TV can possibly offer.  It also has the unique ability to be fitted with different pedestal stands, from the studio stand and the tower stand, to optimise the use of creating living space around the TV so the TV looks great, wherever you locate it.  As if that weren’t enough, Samsung has created Ambient Mode; ambient mode on the QLED series goes that extra step further to make blending the TV into the living space that bit more special.  When the TV is turned off you are not subjected to the big emptiness of a black screen, as the QLED can display all kinds of image when it is turned off, from a simple clock display that shows you the time of day all the way to current news events in your area.

The QLED can even blend fully into your surroundings, in a few simple steps. First, download the Samsung Smart Share app onto your phone or tablet, create a Samsung account then pair your TV with your phone, via Wi-Fi.   Once connected together, stand back and take a photo of your TV with a small part of the wall it is in front of and within 5 minutes the TV senses the colour and texture of the wall it is in front of, then displays on its screen the design of the wall which means it becomes part of the wall!
