The Manhattan S4-R is a Freesat 4K TV recorder released new for 2026, offering access to more than 100 Freesat channels with no monthly subscription costs. Over 35 of those channels are available in high definition, delivered via your existing satellite dish. Once connected to Wi-Fi, the S4-R also provides access to BBC iPlayer, ITVX, Channel 4, My5, YouTube and more, all integrated directly within the device's interface.
Freesat is the UK's free-to-view satellite TV service, making the S4-R a practical choice for households that already have a satellite dish installed or where aerial reception is unreliable. Live TV can also be paused for up to two hours and rewound at any point.
The built-in TV guide can be browsed by genre, channel or traditional grid view, with filters available for subtitles, audio description and HD content. A unified search function covers both live TV and all connected on-demand apps simultaneously. On-demand content is categorised into sections such as comedy, films and sport, and individual titles can be saved to a personal watchlist.
Powered by a quad-core processor, the S4-R is designed to keep apps launching quickly, streams running smoothly and switching between content seamless. The device supports 4K HDR output, and when streaming via BBC iPlayer or YouTube on a compatible television, it delivers Ultra HD pictures at over eight million pixels of detail.
The S4-R comes with an all-in-one remote control that can also operate your television, removing the need for a second remote. A premium 1.2-metre HDMI cable supporting resolutions up to 4K at 60Hz is included in the box
