Review: Samsung HWK360 Soundbar

Guest blog by Jamie.

Have you ever listened to your TV and thought the sound is a bit muffled? Or are you having to turn it up louder to be able to hear it? Well, worry no more as the new exciting Samsung Soundbar range is here boasting in its ranks a variety of excellent sound bars. The HWK360 is Samsung’s entry level soundbar that manages to reach a 130 Watts in power output, giving you a 3.1 channel feel to really boost the sound around your room and give you that cinema feeling. All you need to add is some popcorn and the latest film for a great night in.

The soundbar also has Bluetooth connectivity so that you can also use the device as a music playing system. This is a great feature if you don’t want the TV on but fancied listening to some music. This means with this investment you can turn your living room into either a comfortable home cinema or your very own music entertainment system.

You can control the bar with either its dedicated remote or set it up on your own TV so that you can just use your current TV remote to manage the sound. However, the dedicated remote allows you to set bass and treble levels so you can customise the sound to the way you want to hear and feel it. This can be adjusted to what you are watching be it a film or normal TV.

soundbar 2To the right is the impressive wireless sub that is good in power and also very nice looking. The neat design allows you to put it where it is suitable in your house. The fact it is wireless also means no more cabling added to behind the TV making it convenient for all homes. The slim line design allows the bar to sit very nicely on most units and run smoothly in front of the TV without losing the bottom of your picture. Two wires will run from this bar meaning it is also very simplistic to set up. One is the power cable and the other would be an optical cable to connect the TV (sold separately).

The soundbar offers ultra-clear vocals as well as strong bass levels meaning that you can listen to heavy bass songs or loud punchy movies without losing the quality of the vocals. This particular bar doesn’t connect to the multi room function that Samsung offer but there are others in the range that do; view the range here or pop into your local store for more information.

Overall, with the impressive power for an entry level soundbar and the connectivity it makes it a very appealing bar to buy. The slim design also means it doesn’t cut some of the screen of whilst watching the TV. It is worth a listen so why not look at buying or renting or pop into your nearest store and ask for a demo.
