Review: LG NanoCell 4K TV Series

LG NanoCell TV review

Whilst OLED and QLED panels have dominated the market in the past few years, LG’s NanoCell technology is primed to take the top spot on everyone’s Christmas wish lists this year! In what might be the best mid-range TV to date, their new series includes all of the benefits you would expect from a top-tier set but is less of a knock to your bank balance. This all-new slim bezel NanoCell TV comes in a variety of sizes ranging from 49” to 75”.

Replacing last year’s SK8000, the NanoCell is an entry level TV that directly competes with Samsung’s popular QLED Q60 series. Due to this, the SM8600 has a similar edge-lit backlighting system with rows of LEDs placed on either side of the set to beam into the centre of the screen and mix up with the liquid crystal display to create a stunning picture for all of the family to enjoy.

Like many LG TVs, the SM8600 also has an IPS (In-Plane Switching) panel. This means that you get more power to keep up with all of the activity on your TV screen. It also comes with four HDMI and three USB ports, with one being located at the side of the appliance to give you easy access should you choose to wall-mount it.

The SM8600PLA uses an ultra HD, 4K display to ensure that you can enjoy all of your favourite content at the highest quality possible. After all, Nano technology enhances the purity of colour using 1nm nanoparticles to deliver a flawless visual that never falters.

Nano Accuracy with the LG SM8600

LG has ensured that you always stay connected with the addition of numerous smart features and capabilities such as Airplay 2 which lets you effortlessly share movies, TV shows, photos and more to your TV straight from your iPhone, iPad or Mac! If you’re not an Apple fan, it also has Google Cast built-in. It should be noted that this is one of the only entry level TVs that comes with both. So, whether you’re an Android or an IOS user, you can still cast content to your brand new TV and that’s not all! The SM8600 is more intelligent than ever thanks to LG’s ThinQ AI technology and, coupled with its compatibility with both Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa, you can effortlessly control your entire home from the comfort of your sofa!

Other notable features include the useful addition of Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. Together, they create an entertainment powerhouse with advanced picture quality and superior sound. Experience spectacular, life-like results in every scene with three-dimensional sound that envelopes the whole room.

LG have also introduced their semi-gloss finish. This diffuses all
reflection across the screen for the perfect cinematic experience from any
angle in your room without the distortion that occurs in conventional TVs.

To summarise, this is a great set with an affordable price tag and the latest technology. Unlike other sets in its price bracket, LG have made no compromises when it comes to star-studded range of features for optimised viewing and the full cinematic experience.
