The Bosch Series 4 60cm 4 Zone Induction Hob in black offers a practical and efficient cooking solution for modern kitchens. Built with four induction zones, it provides precise and responsive heat directly to the cookware, making it a reliable choice for everyday cooking. The hob measures 51 x 592 x 522 mm and requires a niche size of 51 x 560 x 490500 mm for installation, with a minimum worktop thickness of 16 mm. The total connected load is 7.4 KW, and power management options are available for 16A, 13A, or 10A connections, allowing the maximum power to be limited depending on the fuse protection of the electrical installation.
Each of the four cooking zones is designed to accommodate different pan sizes and cooking needs. The front left and rear left zones are both 180 mm with a standard output of 1.8 KW and a maximum power of 3.1 KW. The rear right zone measures 145 mm with a standard output of 1.4 KW and a maximum power of 2.2 KW. The front right zone is the largest at 210 mm, offering a standard output of 2.2 KW and a maximum power of 3.7 KW, making it well suited to larger pots and pans.
Control is handled through a TouchSelect interface, using imprinted plus and minus touch buttons to adjust the power level of each zone. There are 17 power settings available per zone, comprising nine main levels and eight intermediate levels, allowing for accurate heat management across a wide range of cooking tasks. A switch-off timer can be set to turn off a cooking zone at a specified time, which is useful for tasks such as boiling eggs, while a separate countdown timer sounds an alarm at the end of a set period, suitable for timing pasta or similar dishes.
The PowerBoost function is available on all four zones and delivers up to 50 percent more energy than the highest standard level, significantly reducing the time needed to bring water to the boil. The QuickStart function automatically selects the cooking zone on which cookware has been placed when the hob is switched on, streamlining the start of the cooking process. The ReStart function allows all previous settings to be restored if the hob is switched off unintentionally, provided it is switched back on within four seconds. A Quick Stop feature enables a cooking zone to be turned off quickly with a single longer touch, and a main on/off switch allows all zones to be switched off simultaneously at the touch of a button.
The hob features a matt glass ceramic surface that is less susceptible to visible scratches and fingerprints compared to standard gloss finishes, and it has a frameless design that gives it a clean, integrated appearance. Safety features include a two-stage residual heat indicator for each zone, which shows whether a zone is still hot or warm after use. A control panel lock prevents unintended activation, and an automatic safety shut-off stops heating after a preset time if the hob is left unattended without being used.
