The Sony KD55XH9005BU is a 55" LED TV, packed with features to improve your picture, sound and entertainment such as 4K detail, HDR colour, and an Android OS for smart functionality.

Sony have built Full Array LED lighting into this TV. This uses many independent zones of lighting placed in the rear of this TV to more accurately illuminate and dim individual areas of the picture. The television utilises this capability with X-tended Dynamic Range, providing a result of more natural shades of shadows and blacks on darker scenes, while still showing rich and vivid colours where needed. The amplified brightness offered by Full Array lighting then supports higher contrast for HDR content through Dolby Vision, meaning Sky, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and gaming among others can show in an expanded and more realistic range of colour.

An X1 processor interprets and adds further enhancement to the image. The XH90 series will upscale resolution with 4K X-Reality PRO. Anything you watch, from TV shows, films, streaming, or gaming will all be sharpened and refined in detail. The TV will also employ object-based HDR remastering, rather than adjusting colour gradients across an entire image, it will identify points of focus on the screen and apply improved remastering to their colours.

Motion quality is cared for with a 100Hz panel - this allows the television to refresh your image faster than a 50Hz panel, and results in less blurring on fact-moving action such as sports. The television will then apply X-Motion Clarity technology to ensure that brightness and colour are maintained.

An Android operating system adds on-demand services from BBC, ITV, Channel 4, and Channel 5, allowing you to view your shows at your convenience. Streaming favourites Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and Disney+ are all accessible from a single menu. Google Assistant and Alexa also work with this range, using a microphone in your remote control they will allow you to ask questions or control the TV and other smart items in your home.

Connecting your devices is optimised by compatibility with HDMI 2.1 standards. Soundbars can use this to improve set-up, lip-synching, and Dolby Atmos surround sound.
