The 5KWK1522 allows you to change what temperature it switches off at anywhere from 50 degrees centigrade right through to 100 degrees centigrade.
Hot drinks are something built in to the British way of life, however, not all hot drinks should be made with boiling water. Your traditional black tea and peppermint/chamomile teas can be brewed at 100 degrees centigrade, however green tea should not be hotter than 75 - 80 degrees, coffee is completely different too, whilst instant coffee should be brewed at 80 - 85 degrees centigrade, filter coffee should actually be brewed between 50 and 60 degrees centigrade.
The above information makes owning this kettle even more necessary if you are a lover of a wide range of hot drinks, with the sliding control level allowing you to set the temperature where you need it, and not just preset temperatures, giving total control. The handy temperature gauge on the side of the kettle also lets you know if the water is at the right temperature before pouring.
The 5KWK1522 is also great for safety, by using a dual wall construction, the outside of the kettle is cooler than it would be on kettle with single wall.
