Step 1: Delivery & safety check
We’ll deliver your new fridge or fridge freezer to your kitchen, unbox it and carry out a pre-install safety check. Please note that we’re unable to install refrigeration appliances in conservatories or areas subject to extreme temperature changes, as this can affect performance and safety.
Step 2: Water connection setup
If your new appliance has a plumbed-in water dispenser, we’ll connect it to a water inlet.
Please note: The water inlet must be within 5 metres of the fridge freezer for our team to be able to do this.
Step 3: Power connection
We’ll plug in your new fridge freezer to a suitable socket.
Please note: We will conduct a basic polarity and earth loop test on the supply to ensure it is safe and suitable.
Step 4: Positioning & levelling
After this, our team will place your new appliance where you would like it before levelling it to make sure it’s secure.
Step 5: Wi-Fi setup
If your fridge freezer has Wi-Fi connectivity, we’ll set this up for you.
Please note: Some fridge freezers must be left for at least 4 hours before being switched on to allow the gas to settle so we may be unable to complete this step.
Step 6: Clean-up & packaging removal
Once you’re happy, we’ll clear up any packaging and take this away with us, leaving you to enjoy your new fridge or fridge freezer.
Step 1: Delivery & safety check
We’ll deliver your new fridge or fridge freezer to your kitchen, unbox it and carry out a pre-install safety check. For integrated appliances, suitable ventilation must be available to allow the appliance to operate correctly. If minor ventilation cut-outs are needed, our installation team may be able to assist with this.
Step 2: Compatibility checks
After this, we’ll check that the new appliance will fit into the space and matches the door style you have (50/50 or 60/40). We’ll also check whether the hinge type of the doors are sliding or fixed.
Step 3: Water connection setup
If your new appliance has a plumbed-in water dispenser, we’ll connect it to a water inlet.
Please note: The water inlet must be within 5 metres of the fridge freezer for our team to be able to do this.
Step 4: Power connection
We’ll plug in your new fridge freezer to a suitable socket.
Please note: We will conduct a basic polarity and earth loop test on the supply to ensure it is safe and suitable.
Step 5: Installation & fitting
Your installers will then place your new fridge or fridge freezer in its space and attach your cupboard doors using the relevant hinge type before securing the appliance into place.
Step 6: Wi-Fi setup
If your fridge freezer has Wi-Fi connectivity, we’ll set this up for you.
Please note: Some fridge freezers must be left for at least 4 hours before being switched on to allow the gas to settle so we may be unable to complete this step.
Step 7: Clean-up & packaging removal
Once you’re happy, we’ll clear up any packaging and take this away with us, leaving you to enjoy your new fridge or fridge freezer.
Do you install American style fridge freezers?
Yes! We’ll be happy to install your American-style fridge freezer as part of our installation service. Please note that, for safety reasons, our team cannot move American-style fridge freezers up or down more than three steps. Before delivery, please make sure there is clear access to the installation location, as we’re unable to remove doors, door frames, worktops or other fixtures and fittings to gain access.
Check your integrated hinge type
For integrated fridge freezers, please check that the appliance you have bought has the correct hinge type for your kitchen. This will be detailed under ‘General’ in the Specifications section on the product page.
Consider appliance size and access
If you’ve ordered an American style fridge freezer, please consider the size of the appliance and how it will be moved into your kitchen. Internal doorways are often narrower than external doors, and features such as radiators, door handles and tight corners can affect access. In some cases, we may be able to remove doors to help manoeuvre the appliance into place, provided this can be done safely and without risking damage to your home or appliance.
Check your nearest socket
Check where your nearest electrical socket is. Fridge and fridge freezer cables are typically around 2 metres, so you’ll need one within range of where you’d like your new appliance. Please note that we cannot connect your new appliance to an extension cable; we will only plug it into a 13amp electrical outlet.
Check the room temperature
Most refrigeration appliances require a minimum ambient temperature of 5°C. Please consider this when choosing where to place your appliance and contact us in advance if you have any concerns.
